Q: Had the ancient kings followed the vastushastra for their success?
 
Ans: Since early age Vastu rules are being followed. Vastu of palace is a separate Para of this Shastra. Without following Vastu nothing could happen in the palace in the ancient age and some of the examples are as follows. During that period palaces were generally divided into different areas, room and the names of such area and rooms are Rajbhaban, Brahma pith, Mahishigriha, Avishekmandap, Ayudhalaya (room to keep arms), Dhanalaya (treasury), Ratnahemadkalaya, Bhojon Mandop, Paknalaya (Kitchen), Pushkarini, Kanchukkalaya (servant quarter), Pushpamandap, Sutikamandap (Birth place), Dasdassalaya, Shayanalaya, Rajkannalaya, Gojalaya (place for elephant), Ashwalaya, Rakkhakabash. Within the palace all these residences were existed separately. Besides all these there were some more residences outside of the palace. These were Juborajalaya, Asthan Mondop, Pushpoddyan, Nrittagar, Purohitalaya, Dhenushala, Rahasshyabas Mandop (hidden room), Shandhibigraha Mandop, Karagriha, Ranga Mandop, Baiddashala or medical room, Jalgriha, Shavagriha, Krirangon, Sangeetshala, and Dutabash etc.
